Response of Alhagi sparsifolia Seedlings to AMF Inoculation and Nitrogen Addition under Drought Stress

Riparian forest veg etation in the lower Tarim River desert often faces a water and nitrogen deficiency. To investigate ecological effects of drought stress limitation arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on Alhagi sparsifolia seedlings at vulnerable stage growth, control experiment was conducted with indoor potted plants. The main findings are as follows: inhibited normal growth development seedlings. When were inoculated AMF N1 (50 mmol·L−1) addition level, infection rate best: 84.44% under sufficient moisture content 77.78% stress. Under same treatment, relative seedling height base diameter, plant biomass, root system indicators (total length, surface area, volume, average number tips, shoot ratio), chlorophyll (except for a/b N0 (0 level), Fv/Fm, total content, idole acetic acid (IAA) gibberellic (GA) initially decreased, then increased finally decreased again. Each these significantly after being AMF, they reached their maximum value treatment; however specific length minimal fluorescence (Fo), antioxidant enzyme activity, contents osmotic regulation substances, abscisic (ABA) strigolactones (SLs) increased, again, treatment. CK (black control), D (drought stress), + A (inoculated black stress) treatments, all above indicators, except (Fm) malondialdehyde (MDA) increasing rate, level. Therefore, arid N-deficient region, established an efficient symbiotic structure which improved resistance promoted rapid passage through vulnerability period. This indicates that inoculation is key link survival strategy sparsifolia.
